13 July (Day 13) Coriobona-Village Gaulois)

Monday afternoon we made our way to the Gaul Village. It is in a nice wooded area.

Map of the village

It has all the feels of what life 2000 years ago would be like. We visited the sanctuary and got a full description of Gaul life in France with the druids. Although I think the toilets are a bit more modern and yet so rustic. After using the toilet you are invited to throw sawdust into the toilet. 😳

We visited the potter, the weaver, the carpenter, the ironsmith, the tanner and the person who dyes the wools. It was all quite interesting. While at the ironsmith I walked straight into one of the low hanging beams and cut my head.

While it was hot it was still very enjoyable to visit and learn about this part of the culture and history of France.
